Today is Johnny “Burst Rock” Cervin Birthday. We celebrated by having a nice big lunch from Juan Pollo here at the office. With many orders of Chicken, Beans, Rice, Potato Salad, Drinks, and a Big Toy Story Cake of his favorite flavor, Vanilla. Johnny is in charge of many of the orders that gets shipped out to our customers, from cds to shirts to bandannas and house shoes and more. Johnny is a staff favorite here at the office, organizing pranks, and being the jokester of the team. Johnny is a good guy and from all the Urban Kings Staff….we say Happy Birthday Johnny and cant wait to do this again next year!

A year ago there was a Break Dancing/Popping/Locking DVD that was released called “Street Level”. It showed different crews around California that have a solid and established name not only in the streets, but in the entertainment business. Some dancers have been featured in Movies, Super Bowl Tv Commercials and Music Videos. This is not only the dancing, but the roots of the artform and how breakdancing progressed over the years and how it originated from the streets to the stages.

The Urban Kings Staff got together last night to celebrate another good year. With 9 Releases in 2011 (Fiesty 2 Guns kicked off the new year with his CD “Talking Guns”, next was Midget Loco’s “First Loco At The Street”, then was Urban Kings Street Anthems 3, Spanky Locos “Tirando Y Rifando 2, Fiesty 2 Guns “Street Scriptures”, Jasper Loco’s “Eastside Assassin”, Baby Jokes “Life On The Streets”, Midget Loco’s “Dedicated To The OG’s” and Chino Grande’s “The Story Of My Life”). Most of the albums are available at your local FYE locations and iTunes.

We are always working here at the office and with another great year we decided to celebrate not only the year that passed, but the new year that has even bigger plans. All our staff went to Alondras Hot Wings and ordered many buffalo wings and beer. Alondras theme is all mafia old time gangsters like Carlo Gambino, Al Capone, John Gotti, and Vito Genevese. It was a blast having fun with the team because we are like family. Here is a few shots of us wildin out.

Its going down tonight from 8pm to 2am at THE GREEN TURTLE (11464 Whittier Blvd, Whittier, Ca 90601). To get in, bring a toy that is valued from $5 to $10. This event is hosted by Burst Rock from the Funny Bones Crew/Soul 2 Soul. And performing live is Jasper Loco from Charlie Row Campo, Mads Tha Hated, Oso Vicious, 2 Tone and MORE. The DJ spinning will be DJ Zion. With some dope artists performing, and giving back to those that are less fortunate this Christmas, there is NO REASON NOT TO GO.

Keeping up with stock and making room for the new shirts to come ; ) We needed to bring in new shelves ( what kind of shelves? …….Costco shelves lol).

The whole head quarters is being re-mastered and re-organized . (including my desk area lol) We had to move every out to make room for the shelves (props to the warehouse team)

Everything had to be moved and as I’m typing this blog, listening drilling noise of the shelves being put together I also remembered that this website is also going to change.

I went back a few times to get these pics so you guys can have an idea of what’s going on with our Old English Band headquarters.

We got clothes everywhere (kinda like my room lol).Our OE shot caller was almost viciously (not being dramatic lol) attacked by a black widow but our OE vandal spotted it and Burst Rock killed it. (i was screaming lol jk)

But it was a a good way to start the morning to be on your toes lol.

I guess you can say we are doing our spring cleaning.

THis film shows you the lifestyle of street dancers through their trials and tribulations, from growing up in an environment filled with graffiti, drugs, gang banging, prison, death and over coming the odds to succeed in life. These two families are notorios when it comes to flaunting skills on the dance floor. Burst Rock has been in many famouse music videos like Fergalicious, to commericals for the super bowl. Burst Rock is also going to be coming in a movie called Filly Brown that features Jenny Rivera, Chingo Bling, and other celebs. It’s gonna be coming out this year so be on the look out. Now if you ever wonder how to get a hold of him, next time you get order late you know who to ask for lol.
